Within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), peerage medallions are worn to identify those who hold the rank of Master or Mistress of the Laurel and Master or Mistress of the Pelican. Master Ark has made medallions for both.

Viking Laurel
This is my Urnes style Viking laurel medallion. It is sturdy for a Master, yet fine enough for a Mistress to wear to court.
The medallion is cast bronze or Sterling silver. It has a 4 mm loop at the top, but the loop is open at the bottom so that it can be expanded slightly for a larger chain if necessary. The medallion is 4 cm across and weighs 19 grams.
The Urnes style is a Viking art style that combines thick and thin elements in an interlacing pattern and often features fantastical beasts.

BATTLE LAUREL
This medallion is a laurel, an award in the Society for Creative Anachronism for excellence in the arts. I call this my battle laurel, because it is sturdy enough to wear into battle, yet fine enough to wear to court. It is cast bronze and has two loops on the back for attaching a chain or cord. The medallion is 5 cm across.
PELICAN MEDALLION
Within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), peerage medallions are worn to identify those who hold the rank of Master or Mistress of the Pelican, an award given for service to the society. This pelican medallion is cast bronze and measures 4 1/2 cm across. I have made it as either a pendant or as a brooch. The pendant has two loops on the back to attach a chain or cord. It can also be strung on a strand of beads for greater effect.
