Pegasus is one of the best known figures in Greek mythology. During the Middle Ages he was a symbol of wisdom and fame. He later became a source of poetic inspiration. Pegasus is found illustrated on ancient Greek pottery, and paintings and sculptures of the Renaissance.
This Pegasus pendant is cast in bronze and the chain goes between the wings. It is 4 1/2 cm by 4 cm.
It is three dimensional and reversible.

He represents the spirits of the trees, plants and foliage and has powers over nature, promoting growth and protecting both plants and wild animals. He is the consort of the Goddess who joins with Mother Earth to bring forth new life. This rendition of the Greenman is cast in bronze. There are two loops on the back of the piece so that it can be worn as a pendant on a chain or cord. This piece is 2 1/4 inches long.
I also make this design as a brooch.

Legends of Mermaids are found in many cultures from the Sirens that Homer wrote of in the Odyssey, to the Merrows of Ireland, the Ceasg of Scottland, the Murag of Wales to mermaids in Assyria and China to the mermaids reported in the journals of Christopher Columbus. They are also found in the border illuminations of Medieval manuscripts.
