FLORAL CLASP

The inspiration for this design comes from an illumination from the Winchester Bible, done in about 1175AD.  The clasp sews on, using three loops on the back of each piece and works with a hook and loop.  It is 3-3/4" long by 2".

Picture
OAK LEAF CLASP

This sterling silver oak leaf clasp is lightweight and delicate, yet sturdy.
It is sewn onto the cloak using three loops on the back of each half. It
then closes using a simple hook and loop. It is suitable for fairy finery, a medieval cloak, or your cape.  It is also available in bronze. It measures 4-3/4" long by 1-1/8" at its widest point.

KNOTWORK BUCKLE BROOCH

This cloak clasp is designed in the style of a Saxon buckle brooch. It is cast in bronze and has three loops on the back of each piece to sew it onto the cloak. It fastens using a hook and loop. It is strong and sturdy, but also the lightest weight of all my cloak clasps, making it excellent for any weight of cloak. It measures 3-5/8" long by 1".

SHIELD AND SWORD CLASP
I designed this sword and shield clasp so that the sword is actually the pin. The shield is decorated with Celtic knotwork. The sword is reversible, so that either the plain hilt or the skull hilt can be worn facing forward. The sword slips through the larger top loop, through your fabric, and then through the smaller bottom loop to fasten it.

The piece is made of cast bronze. The shield is 5 1/2 cm across. The sword is
9 1/2 cm long. The blade of the sword is 5mm wide and can leave a hole in a
tightly woven fabric. It is suitable for a light weight cloak or cape.

BUCKLE BROOCH
This is a Saxon style cloak clasp called a buckle brooch.  The pin fastener is based on the Sutton Hoo shoulder clasps.  This clasp sews onto the cloak and is fastened by inserting the pin.  It is a very sturdy and secure clasp that will hold the heaviest of cloaks.  It comes set with a
variety of popular stones.  Favorites are amethyst, lapis, and garnet.

RENAISSANCE CLASP

This clasp is 10 cm long and sews on with three loops on the back of each piece.

ANNULAR BROOCH
This small annular brooch is the perfect fastener for closing a tunic or holding two pieces of fabric together. To use it you pull the fabric up through the ring until it extends further than the point of the pin. Put the point of the pin through the fabric and pull it back down. It is a very secure brooch and was very common in period.
This annular is cast bronze. The ring is 25 mm across with an inner diameter of 17 mm.
